Save money … not just with coupons.

Times are tough and a lot of us are looking for ways to save money and green is the way to go. It may not seem like the most obvious and easy way to save money but it is easier than you think. There are so many green ways to save money on top of the things you already do. Just step into your house and I bet you see tons of tiny things you can do to save more than just money. Like unplugging your appliances when you are not using them or washing your clothes in cold water because as much as 85% of energy is used to heat water when washing clothes.

Another thing you can do to save money without much work is but yourself a reusable water bottle. Aquafina, Dasani, and other 20 ounce bottled water is on average sold for $ 1.25 and translates to about $8 a gallon so a gallon from the Coca-cola and Pepsi company costs you more than a gallon of gas. Which is crazy because you are paying for water that is identical to what comes out of tap, but tap water has the vitamins that Aquafina and Dasani don’t.

The biggest thing you can do is just shop at secondhand store, you can find items that are gently used, be it books, clothes, or anything you could ever want. There are websites like craigslist.org and stores like half price books or even goodwill. (You can always find something cool at goodwill.) If you shop at a secondhand store the items are less expensive and the people who make these items are not wasting the materials to make more of the same item. What I have uncovered today is not even the tip of the very green iceberg of ways to save money there are so many more ways to save money the green way. For more info on what I have mentioned here you can go to
